Position Summary:
The Pacific Clinic is looking for a new Family Programs Director!! The Family Programs Director is responsible for the overall development, management, and execution of family-oriented programs, including but not limited to birthday parties, nursery services, preschool, and kids’ programs.
This position pays starting at a salary of $24.00-$26.00/hr DOE plus commissions.
Responsibilities:
Program Management
Oversee the planning, development, and execution of family-related programs, including birthday parties, nursery, and kids’ programs.
Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all families, ensuring that programs are culturally sensitive and accessible to a diverse population.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments based on participant feedback and organizational goals.
Establish and maintain program schedules, including managing resources, staff, and facilities.
Training and Team Development
Supervise, train, and mentor staff, interns, and volunteers within the family programs department.
Create and implement training programs to ensure all staff deliver high-quality, engaging, and safe services for families.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, communication, and professional development.
Jungle Gym Nursery
Ensure the nursery is safe, clean, and staffed with qualified individuals who provide excellent care.
Develop, implement, and manage educational and recreational activities for kids, ensuring age-appropriate learning and engagement.
Ensure all programs comply with health, safety, and child protection regulations.
Properly communicate with nursery and staff and nursery parents when contacted.
Kids Programs
Manage and develop structured kids’ programs, including activities involving the rock wall, gymnasium, and seasonal kids' camps.
Design and implement engaging recreational and educational activities for kids, including physical fitness, team-building exercises, and creative learning.
Collaborate with families to ensure the programs meet their children’s needs, and maintain open communication with parents throughout the duration of camps and programs.
Birthday Parties
Manage and execute birthday party packages, ensuring they are fun, well-organized, and customized to client needs.
Coordinate with vendors, families, and staff to ensure the seamless delivery of services for events.
Oversee the marketing and promotion of birthday party services, tracking bookings and ensuring financial goals are met.
Preschool
Direct and oversee the daily operations of the preschool program, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements and educational standards.
Develop and implement a curriculum that supports the intellectual, social, and emotional development of preschool children.
Ensure preschool classrooms are well-equipped, safe, and conducive to learning and play.
Marketing and Budgeting
Manage the department’s budget, including setting financial goals for programs and monitoring expenses.
Work closely with the Marketing Department to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote family programs, including online and offline channels.
Non-Essential Functions:
Occasionally serve as a backup for other staff members during peak times or in emergencies, such as stepping in to help with a kids’ program or event.
Contribute to internal team-building activities, social events, or organizational initiatives that enhance the workplace culture.
Working Conditions:
The Family Programs Director will work primarily in an office setting but will also be required to attend and oversee programs and events in various facilities including indoor and outdoor. The role may involve lifting, setting up, and moving equipment for events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience supervising staff and volunteers.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Knowledge of child development and family dynamics, with a passion for creating nurturing environments for children and families.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience managing family programs, child care services, or similar roles, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
